Freelance Inquiries

Throughout the year, I'm able to take on a select amount of clients for freelance design work and/or retail consulting.  Depending on the scale of the project and the time of the year, I can design a capsule collection to add to their retail shop or restaurant's offerings, or provide retail support for those who are new to opening a store.  I have over two decades of retail operations and marketing experience and I can help you give your customers more reasons to love what you do.

If you have any questions, please click the "Contact" link at the top of this page and fill out the contact form.  I try to get back to folks as soon as possible, but if it's during the high season between late May and early September, responses may take a day or two.

If you would like a more in-depth understand of what I can offer, please read below.

DESIGN
Most souvenir product ends up in a landfill.  When I opened The Old Baby, I wanted our town's visitors to feel like they could buy something that represents the town in a way that feels special and they'll want to hold onto it for a long time. In 2026, a retail shop, bar, restaurant, or brewery selling their own merch isn't new or revolutionary, but... it can be generic.  Let's get you away from generic.

If you're doing something meaningful in your community, your customers want to feel like they're a part of it (because they are).  Offering thoughtful merchandise can go a long way to make your business feel more special than it already is, and I'd love to help you create it.

My designs have lived on tee shirts, sweatshirts, hats, keychains, stickers, tote bags, mugs, shorts, hang tags, garment tags, store signage, business cards, and more.

RETAIL CONSULTATION
Whether you have a retail business background or you've simply got an idea and the capital to open your shop, let me help you with the stuff that bogs down new shop owners. I can offer a range of services, from helping you establish your LLC to linking you up with the right people to help you with the business, legal, financial, buying, and creative goals of your shop.  I find that people with the idea to open a shop usually have their "thing" already figured out, but they need help filling in the blanks.

Generally what I offer is a comprehensive, custom checklist that will help you stay on track to be the best project manager for your new venture.  If you've never opened a shop before, it can feel like you're flying blind.  I always start with a checklist because it keeps everything in one place and gives you a high-level understand of All Things Retail.

For more in-depth projects working with people who don't have retail backgrounds, once we establish your needs and goals, I'll then create a contacts resource that will put all of your retail partners at a glance.  No need to do a zillion hours of googling to figure out what permits and licenses you need to apply for, what kind of accountant you'll need and what software to sign up for for your bookkeeping needs... I'll create a streamlined document that will give you peace of mind for knowing who to reach out to as you start checking tasks off your list.  I can guide you through setting up banking accounts, software subscriptions, finding the best POS modules that fit your needs, and much more.

Please note: I am not a project manager and I only work with folks who are willing to get their hands dirty.  My job is not to make your buildout easy, but I will make it way, way easier.  If these last two sentences rubbed you the wrong way, you may not be ready to open your own shop.  Trust me, no matter who's helping you, it's going to be a lot of work. A lot of restless nights.  A lot of stress.  But, you don't have to do it alone and I'm here to help.

Good luck and reach out if you think I may be able to help you, on any level, with your product designs or retail operations.
